If item is on reserve and ....

Good morning all,

Hope everyone’s Labor Day is safe and happy! MANY thoughts and prayers to everyone Harvey affected.

I understand putting an item on reserve, takes it out of the active listing and no one can see it but me. My question is a what if ..

What if say the item has been posted on social media and someone clicks on the link? Will they see “No such URL”? Or does Bonanza put something up like, “item no longer available, but you might like these”?

I have some major housekeeping to do in several categories, and fear if I put item in reserve, potential customer will get the URL not found, which I don’t want.

And, if items are on reserve, can you make bulk edits?

Your input will help me determine the best course of action.

Here is a listing that I have on reserve.

Let me know what you find out. I do not know either.

And yes, you can do bulk editing on reserved listings. Since I have several listings on reserve and need to change out the whole template, I did a practice with bulk text editing and it worked fine :)

[URL removed] I am going to be going into some reserved listings to work on today. I will not touch this listing until I see that you have responded to your thread :)

To Answer Brilliantly

Remember these tips:

  • Use links to other sources to support your opinions
  • Use examples where possible
  • Put yourself in the inquirers shoes: what extra info would be helpful?

Should I post a comment or an answer?

You can only post one answer, so make it count. Maybe your reply is more fitting as a comment instead?

Post an answer for:

  • Replies that directly and specifically answer the original question

Post a comment for:

  • "Thanks," "Me too," "I agree," or "Works for me" types of replies
  • When you would like the original poster to provide more details
  • When you have more to add to someone else's question or answer
